Slough Town Football Club can confirm that striker Lloyd Owusu has signed Southern League forms to play for the club for the remainder of the season.

After a long career which has seen him play for a number of Football League clubs, Owusu has most recently been with Barnet, with a short loan spell at Hayes & Yeading United - but the Ghanaian striker now rejoins his first club as a free agent.

Owusu, now 35, started his career with Slough Town, his hometown club, rising through the ranks at youth and reserve team level before breaking into the first team in September 1996. He made his debut in a 2-0 home win against Bromsgrove Rovers in the GM Vauxhall Conference. Owusu marked his full league debut for the club in style with four goals in a 6-0 win over Telford United.

In all, Owusu scored 18 goals in 59 appearances for Slough before being sold to Brentford in 1998 in the midst of the club's "summer of hell" which saw the club expelled from the Conference. He enjoyed his most successful spell in League football with the Bees, scoring 76 goals for the club in two spells.

Owusu also enjoyed spells at Sheffield Wednesday and Reading, before having spells at Yeovil Town, Cheltenham Town, Brighton & Hove Albion and Adelaide United in the Australian 'A' League. In addition, he has played four times for Ghana, having earnt his first cap in 2005.

Last season, Owusu joined Luton Town, scoring 6 times in 13 appearances as the Hatters sought promotion from the Conference, before having short spells at Barnet and Hayes & Yeading United.

The striker has been injured recently, but trained with Slough last weekend and has registered to play for the club for the remainder of the season and help former teammate Steve Bateman with the club's promotion push. He is available for selection in tomorrow's (Saturday) home game against AFC Hayes.
