Slough Town are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young striker Ruben Bartlett-Antwi.
The 21-year-old forward arrives at Arbour Park after a remarkable 2024/25 campaign in the Isthmian League South Central Division with Leatherhead, where he recorded 21 goals and 17 assists, totalling 41 direct goal contributions in just a few months after joining in November.
Standing at 6’2”, Ruben offers a strong physical presence up front, with the ability to play as a traditional target man or stretch defences with intelligent runs in behind. He is known for his back-to-goal play, clever link-up work, and maturity well beyond his years.
Ruben began his senior career in the Essex Senior League with West Essex in 2022/23, scoring 15 goals in 31 appearances. His progression continued with Basildon United in the Isthmian League North Division, where he netted nine times in 19 games at the start of last season.
A move to Leatherhead in November 2024 proved a turning point, as he immediately became a key figure in their attack, helping the club to an 8th-place finish with 72 points. His prolific form quickly attracted interest from higher up the pyramid, with various EFL sides reportedly monitoring his progress. Ruben joined a League One club for trials after leaving Leatherhead in the summer.
Ruben is the son of Will Antwi, England Under-19 coach and former professional defender. Born in Enfield and eligible to represent Ghana through family heritage, Ruben has combined his natural athleticism with an impressive football intelligence, making him one of non-league’s most talked-about young forwards.
He is eligible to play in tomorrow's Enterprise National League South match against Hemel Hempstead Town.
