Matchday Information: Slough Town v Macclesfield
Emirates FA Cup, Second Round
Sunday 7 December 2025 – Arbour Park
Kick-off: 12.30pm | Turnstiles open: 10.30am

A place in the Emirates FA Cup Third Round is at stake this Sunday lunchtime as we welcome National League North side Macclesfield to a sold-out Arbour Park for our Second Round tie.

The Rebels secured their place in the Second Round with a 2-1 home win over National League side Altrincham, as first-half goals from debutant Ansu Janneh and Wiktor Makowski proved decisive despite a second half reply from James Gale and a late red card for the visitors’ Elliot Osborne. Earlier in the competition, Slough dramatically defeated Enfield Town in Fourth Round Qualifying thanks to a stoppage-time winner from Jaiden Drakes-Thomas, having entered the competition in Second Round Qualifying and progressed past Welling United after a replay, before a 2-1 victory over Bedfont Sports despite playing over an hour with ten men.

Macclesfield’s run began with a 3-0 Second Round Qualifying win over Atherton Laburnum Rovers, followed by a 2-0 victory against local rivals Nantwich Town in the Third Round Qualifying. Paul Dawson’s strike then secured a 1-0 Fourth Round Qualifying win over Stamford AFC to reach the First Round Proper for the first time, before their dramatic 6-3 First Round triumph over AFC Totton, inspired by a Danny Elliott hat-trick, sealed their place in the Second Round.

Both clubs are bidding to reach the Third Round for the first time. This will be the first meeting between the two clubs, though Slough previously faced Macclesfield Town on 14 occasions, most memorably in the 1998/99 FA Cup, when a pair of draws were followed by a dramatic 9-8 penalty shoot-out defeat at Wexham Park.

Should the scores be level after 90 minutes, extra time will be played, with a penalty shoot-out deciding the tie if necessary. There will be no replay.
