Our 2025/26 Emirates FA Cup journey has already delivered drama, resilience, adversity and some unforgettable moments as the Rebels now stand just one win away from the Third Round Proper for the first time in the club’s history.
Here’s how we made it to the Second Round.
Second Round Qualifying: Welling United 1–1 Slough Town
Saturday 13 September 2025
The Rebels’ cup adventure began with a bruising battle at Park View Road. Slough looked set to progress when Peter Ojemen fired them ahead deep into first-half stoppage time following a Johnny Goddard free-kick.
Despite defending valiantly amid a physical second half, heartbreak struck in the fourth minute of added time when Jack Paxman converted from the spot after Slough were penalised for a late defensive challenge. A 1-1 draw forced a replay, with Adam Desbois making several key saves to preserve parity at the death.

Tuesday 16 September 2025
The replay at Arbour Park proved a stern test despite Welling being reduced to ten men after just seven minutes. Slough dominated territory but struggled to find a breakthrough against a disciplined defensive block.
Relief finally arrived in the 79th minute when substitute Nnaemeka Anyanwu broke into the channel and squared for Wiktor Makowski to finish from close range. It was a gritty victory that showcased patience and persistence, sending the Rebels into Third Round Qualifying.
Third Round Qualifying: Bedfont Sports 1–2 Slough Town
Saturday 27 September 2025
One of the most heroic performances of Slough’s season followed at Hatton Road. The Rebels fell behind early through Ollie Davison, then suffered a huge setback when Adam Desbois was sent off after 25 minutes for denying a clear goalscoring opportunity.
Teenager Henry Upstell was thrown into senior action on debut, yet Slough refused to buckle. Josh Adepoju levelled with a brave header just before half-time before producing a moment of calm brilliance on 62 minutes to clip home the winner.
Playing over an hour with ten men, Slough showed immense resilience to reach the Fourth Round Qualifier.
