Slough Town Football Club is delighted to confirm the appointment of Donovan Chislett as Men’s First Team Assistant Manager, joining Alan Julian’s backroom team at Arbour Park.
Chislett reunites with Julian, having worked alongside him at Hampton & Richmond Borough where he held the role of First Team Assistant Manager.
A highly respected coach with a strong background in player development, Chislett is best known for his long-standing association with Metropolitan Police. As Head Coach of their U18 side for several years, he oversaw a sustained period of success, guiding the team to honours including the Surrey Youth Cup, Isthmian Youth League and the Champion of Champions title across the Isthmian youth divisions.
During his tenure, the Met Police U18s also enjoyed memorable runs in the FA Youth Cup, reaching the Proper Rounds and facing professional academy sides such as Yeovil Town, Burnley, Wolverhampton Wanderers, Portsmouth and Swindon Town. His work helped develop numerous young players who progressed into the professional game, with scouts from Football League clubs becoming regular visitors to Imber Court.
Following his departure from the Met Police U18 setup in September 2021, Chislett continued his coaching journey as U16s Lead Coach at Sutton United, further strengthening his reputation for developing emerging talent.
He later stepped into senior football, linking up with Julian at Hampton & Richmond Borough, where the pair established a strong working relationship that now continues at Slough Town.
Speaking on his arrival, Chislett said:
“It’s a real proud moment for me to join Slough Town Football Club.
“I’m hungry to build on Scotty’s great work and play my part in pushing the club to new heights.”
Manager Alan Julian added:
“Quite simply, Donovan is the best coach I’ve come across in the game, but even more than that he’s a wonderful human being.
"He’s a real pleasure to work alongside, and I’m delighted to have him at the club.”
Everyone at Slough Town would like to welcome Donovan to the club and wish him every success in his new role.
