Statement On Managers Position
Slough Town have today released an update on the vacant managers position at the club.
Following on from the untimely resignation of manager Darron Wilkinson and his assistant Nick Roddis on Tuesday morning, the club worked hard to ensure a full side was available for the evening's crucial match with Hillingdon Borough.
It was felt that if the players had been notified to arriving at the ground, many would not have arrived for the match and we would have been unable to fulfill the fixture, hence the reason why the decision to notify the players was conducted before kick off.
Whilst we fully expect players to move on following the departure of Wilkinson and Roddis, players are being brought in ahead of the match with Abingdon at Holloways Park on Saturday.
Following on from a management committee meeting last night, Mark Betts will be assisted by Richard Barnard in the managerial responsiblities at the club whilst the position of manager of the first team is advertised in the non league press and through this website. We had a discussion with both Mark and Richard following the Hillingdon match and they were both very enthusiastic about the challenge presented to them. Both Mark and Richard will have our full support during this time and will be invited to apply for the position on a permanent basis.
Applications, which should include a covering letter and footballing CV, should be received no later than the 14th December either via email to secretary@sloughtownfc.net or via post to: Slough Town FC, c/o 25 Northcroft, Slough, Berkshire, SL2 1HR.
