I would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers who show up week in week out, without whom there would be no club. Steve Easterbrook Overall, the 2008/09 season for me has been a disappointment.

What promised so much delivered so little. At the start of this season I was hoping the club would achieve stability both on and off the field. Unfortunately we are still struggling on the field. One minute we are beating a top placed team the next we are being outplayed by lower placed teams. I can honestly say that the frustration at times has been unbearable - last minute goals conceded, periods of play where we concede 3 goals in five minutes, leads lost in injury time etc etc.

I know that building a team takes time, but as the season progressed, for whatever reason we seemed at times to somehow be going backwards. Suffice to say that confidence, resolve, team spirit and pride must return to the team for next season.

On a more positive note the new under 18's team managed by Tony Thompson is enjoying a successful season. With 3 games to go the team are currently placed second, one point behind Holmer Green, who they still have to play. It would be great if we could get as many supporters at this match to cheer them on in what will probably be the title decider.

Discussions with Slough Borough Council in relation to a new ground are progressing well with only a few points to overcome. There have been many issues to deal with and the current economic climate is not helping. However, meetings will be taking place next week and I am confident that very soon all the issues will have been addressed. The club together with Slough Borough Council have worked incredibly hard to get this far and hopefully we will in the near future be in a position to progress with the detailed planning application.

I do believe the club has moved forward this year but emphasis next season must be on getting the right balance to allow us to be more successful on the pitch. Let's hope today we can follow Tuesday night's good result against Gosport Borough and finish the season with a couple of wins.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank the volunteers who show up week in week out, without whom there would be no club. As always the support has been fantastic which I know is greatly appreciated by the players and management. Thanks also to the Supporters Trust for all their hard work and well done to the walkers and everyone for the many thousands of pounds that has been raised this season for good causes. Well Done!

Finally, have a great summer and I look forward to seeing everyone next season in what I believe will be a great season for The Rebels, both off and ON the field!
