Rebels snap up Hibbert on loan

Ahead of Tuesday’s all-important fixture ahead of Hitchin Town Steve Bateman has strengthened his squad with the loan signing of midfielder Leon Hibbert.

Hibbert arrives from last season's Southern Premier champions Corby Town where he played an integral part in helping the Steelmen pip Farnborough Town to promotion to the Conference North last season by a single point.

The 27-year old midfielder has also played under Steve Bateman and several other Slough Town players before at Hemel Hempstead, Barton Rovers and Berkhamsted Town.

Hibbert is looking to gain match fitness having been out injured for several weeks while at Corby after a knee operation.

The Rebels in-fact managed to sign the 6'4" midfielder on loan despite interest in the player from a number of Conference South sides.

Hibbert's arrival is much-needed to bolster the Rebels squad with injuries to Steve Sinclair (wrist), Tyron Sealey (shoulder), Graeme Edwards (shoulder) and skipper Paul Edgeworth (ankle).
