Steve Bateman in the Observer Slough Town manager Steve Bateman today strengthened his squad with the signings of midfielders James Duncan and Chris Seeby.
James Duncan started the season with Beaconsfield SYCOB, playing alongside fellow midfielder Dean Clark at the heart of their midfield before leaving the club for Margate following Joe Mitchell's departure from the Rams.
The central midfielder is seen as someone who will be able to break-up the play in the Rebels midfield.
Originally a product of the Wealdstone's PASE Youth team he moved up to the 'Stones reserves and featured as the the Middlesex club won the Ryman Division One North play-off against Dulwich Hamlet in 2004 before moving on onto Waltham Forest. He has also had spells at AFC Hayes and Leyton.
During 2006/07 and 2007/08 season Duncan played for Hillingdon Borough and appeared in the FA Vase Final defeat to Nantwich Town at Birmingham City's St Andrews ground.
Chris Seeby joins the Rebels from Northwood, but is best known as a St Albans City player where he made 190 appearances for the Saints having worked his way through the Youth and Reserve set up at Clarence Park. He joins former team-mate Simon Martin in the Rebels ranks.
Seeby was an influential member of the St Albans side that gained promotion to the Nationwide Conference in the 2005-06 season. While in the Conference with City he made his debut for the England National Game XI (England non-league side) at the official opening of Forest Green Rovers’ New Lawn stadium.
This season has seen Seeby play an important role in Northwood’s league and cup campaign having been a regular in the side since the start of the season. Comfortable in either defence or midfield Seeby will be an important part of manager Steve Bateman’s squad.
Both players go into the squad for selection ahead of this saturdays away trip to Biggleswade Town.
