Salton arrived at the club with Steve Bateman in March 2009 and has played a massive part in helping the Rebels avoid relegation last season, and getting to the play-off final in the current campaign.
Steve Bateman told the club's supporters:
"Sadly I have to announce Salts (Darren Salton) has called it a day. Salts has had to travel a long way to the club from Bedfordshire.
He's been fantastic for this club, the players love him and quite rightly so. He's a character and I've worked with him at two clubs now and had success at both, and he's been a big part of that.
Although Salts has left he's promised me he'll do some scouting work for me in Bedfordshire, so were alright if we need to know about Barton Rovers, Bedford or Rugby, so he's going to have a look at a few games for us."
Bateman continued "I wish him well in whatever he does next in football because Salts is a UEFA 'A' licensed coach who has a lot to offer and i've really enjoyed working with him."
The club would like to wish Darren all the best for the future and thank him for his time at Slough Town FC.
