Slough Town have today announced the appointment of Mark Betts as First Team Manager, with Richard Barnard assistant.

The appointment was confirmed to the manager today following a successful spell as caretaker manager which has seen the side's performance improve notably, particularly in away matches. The spirit within the team has also visibly improved and the board hope this can continue.

Following a lengthy meeting with members of the board on Wednesday night, the decision was taken to make the appointment a permanent one. Despite a number of applicants for the position, Betts and Barnard were given the opportunity to stake their claim for the job and have fully earned their shot at the position.

A number of suggestions were put back and forth between the members of the board and the club's new management on Wednesday night and those suggestions will now be implemented to pull the club away from the bottom of the league towards safety this season.

The pair have continued to impress with their enthusiasm, desire to win and the continual striving to improve across all areas of the playing side from training methods to matchday activities.

Following the postponement of the Farnborough match today, the new duo's first match will be the six pointer with Bracknell on the 26th January.
