Slough Town are pleased to announce the signing of Jacob Borgnis on loan from EFL League One side Reading.
The 21-year-old midfielder, who can also operate in defence, arrives at Arbour Park having progressed through the Reading academy system and earned a senior contract with the Royals.
Borgnis has developed steadily through the ranks at the Select Car Leasing Stadium, featuring for Reading’s U18s and U21s between 2020 and 2025 before stepping up into the first-team environment. He has gained regular experience in Premier League 2 and academy competitions, showcasing his tactical awareness, versatility, and ability to contribute both in midfield and across the back line.
He has made three appearances in the Vertu Trophy this season, making his debut against Swindon Town and scoring his first Royals goal in a 3-1 victory over West Ham United U21s.
Born in New Zealand, the right-footed midfielder is known for his intelligence on the ball and adaptability, characteristics that have seen him trusted in multiple roles during his progression through the Royals’ setup.
Borgnis now joins Scott Davies’ squad until Saturday 13 December as the Rebels strengthen their options during a demanding run of fixtures. Jacob is available for selection tomorrow as we host Gloucester City in the Isuzu FA Trophy.
