It was the easiest of all decisions, and I can’t wait to concentrate on finishing the season as well as we can
Scott Davies
Slough Town Football Club is delighted to announce that manager Scott Davies has signed a new contract extension which will keep him at Arbour Park until the end of the 2027/28 season.
The new agreement reflects the club’s continued confidence in Scott’s leadership and his role in building stability, progress and a clear long-term vision for Slough Town.
Scott was appointed first-team manager in November 2022 during a challenging period and successfully guided the club to National League South safety, laying strong foundations for future seasons. Progress was evident in 2023/24 as the Rebels recovered from a difficult start to finish 10th in the league and enjoyed a memorable Emirates FA Cup run, reaching the First Round Proper and forcing a replay away at League Two side Grimsby Town.
Further consolidation followed in 2024/25, with Slough securing safety once again with a 16th-place finish on 57 points. A strong start to the campaign saw the Rebels top of the league at one stage, while a standout moment came with an Isuzu FA Trophy victory over local rivals Maidenhead United at Arbour Park.
During Scott’s tenure, Slough also achieved a remarkable calendar year unbeaten at Arbour Park across all competitions.
This season has already delivered further highlights, including back-to-back festive derby victories and a memorable Emirates FA Cup run to the Second Round. The televised home tie against Macclesfield attracted a record Arbour Park crowd of 2,500, marking another landmark moment for the club.
Speaking after signing the new contract, Scott Davies said:
“For me personally, it’s a great way to start the New Year. This club has been a part of my life for the past eight years, which is a long time in football, so for that to continue, I’m really pleased.
“This contract is testament to the hard work of the management team that helps me so much along the way. This season was meant to be a year of transitioning from the pitch to the dugout, but injuries have not allowed that to happen. However, one person that’s been a huge help over the past few years is Yella, who has allowed me to concentrate on playing when needed. I understand that a player/manager role isn’t ideal and sometimes far from perfect, but thankfully we’ve found a way to make it work.
“A huge thanks also goes to the board for showing faith in me with the new contract offer. I’d like to think that our relationship is unique, honest and as strong as ever which stands us in good stead moving forward.
“It was the easiest of all decisions, and I can’t wait to concentrate on finishing the season as well as we can whilst hopefully securing the futures of players we have within our squad ahead of the next campaign.
“I’m delighted that we can continue our journey, backed by the fantastic Rebel Army right behind us. Let’s make 2026 one to remember!”
CEO Ashley Smith added:
“I’m absolutely delighted to confirm that Scott has signed a new contract with Slough Town, extending his stay at the club until 2028.
“Since Scott began his management journey, he has been central to building strong foundations for the future while delivering unrivalled success in what is an increasingly competitive football landscape. A real highlight of this period has been an entire year unbeaten at Arbour Park, alongside reaching the FA Cup proper rounds twice in the last three seasons.
“Just as importantly, Scott has shown a genuine commitment to developing players, several of whom have gone on to earn moves to professional clubs, underlining the strength of the pathway we are building.
“Scott is completely aligned with our vision and has a genuine love for this club, its people and everything it stands for. During this time, we have received several approaches for Scott, which only strengthens my belief that he is one of the most talented young managers in the game.
“We share a real belief in what we are building here and know there is so much more to come. I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to continue growing this project together and about what the future holds for Slough Town under Scott’s leadership.”
Everyone at the club looks forward to continuing the journey under Scott’s leadership and building on the progress made in recent seasons.
