Slough Town Football Club are delighted to confirm that, following a successful funding application, our community programme will expand significantly with the launch of five new projects over the coming months.
We would like to place on record our sincere thanks to the National League Trust for their support in enabling us to continue and grow our work within the local community.
The National League Trust (NLT) supports every club across the three divisions of the National League system, providing funding to club trusts, charities and community interest companies (CICs) to help deliver community activity, sports provision and outreach within their towns and surrounding areas. The Trust operates in a similar way to the EFL Trust for League One and League Two clubs, offering both grant funding and development guidance across a wide range of initiatives.
The aim of the NLT is to encourage every National League club to play an active role within its community. The grant funding is made possible thanks to the generous support of the Trust’s funding partners, the Premier League and the Professional Footballers’ Association.
Through our ongoing engagement with a number of fantastic local groups, we have identified five projects that will now be introduced:
• Relaunch of the FA Comets disability football programme for children of all abilities aged 5–11
• New football sessions for blind and visually impaired participants, open to both children and adults
• Neurological football sessions for people living with conditions such as Parkinson’s, dementia, Alzheimer’s or other neurological conditions
• Recreational football for women and girls of all ages and abilities
• Extra Time Hub, a social initiative supporting older members of our community through non-football activities
Where possible, all five projects will run year-round and every session will be completely free of charge.
Further details, including venues and start dates, will be announced over the coming weeks, so please keep an eye on the club’s website and social media channels.
