Slough Town are delighted to announce the signing of exciting young forward George Vorster from National League side Sutton United ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 19-year-old attacker arrives at Arbour Park following a breakthrough campaign that saw him gain senior experience in both Step 3 and Step 4 football, as well as making his first-team debut for Sutton United.
Vorster enjoyed a hugely successful 2025/26 season with Burgess Hill Town, scoring 17 goals and registering 13 assists in 40 appearances across all competitions for the Hillians.
His impressive form saw him collect a clean sweep of end-of-season awards, being named Players’ Player of the Year, Supporters’ Player of the Year and Young Player of the Year.
George initially joined Burgess Hill on loan in August 2025 and made an immediate impact at Leylands Park, scoring six goals in 19 appearances during the first half of the campaign.
Those performances earned him recognition from Sutton United manager Chris Agutter, who rewarded the young forward with opportunities in the National League club’s first team.
Vorster made his senior competitive debut from the bench in a 5-0 Surrey Senior Cup victory over Guildford City before making his National League debut in Sutton’s memorable 4-2 victory against Gateshead.
He followed that up with his first senior start, playing the full 90 minutes in a 2-1 Surrey Senior Cup win over AFC Croydon Athletic, and was later named in the squad for Sutton’s televised Emirates FA Cup Second Round tie against Shrewsbury Town.
Vorster returned to Burgess Hill for the remainder of the season, continuing his excellent goalscoring form and ending the campaign as the club’s top scorer.
The striker had previously impressed during an earlier loan spell with Ashford Town (Middlesex) during the 2024/25 season.
After initially joining Ashford on loan in November 2024, the move was extended until the end of the campaign as Vorster became an important figure in the club’s attack.
He scored nine goals in 26 appearances, finishing as the Tangerines’ joint-second highest goalscorer and earning the club’s Young Player of the Season award.
Among his standout moments were a brace in a 3-0 victory over Badshot Lea, goals in wins against Raynes Park Vale and Westfield, as well as two goals in a 5-0 victory over Guernsey.
A pacey and intelligent forward with an eye for goal, Vorster now joins the Rebels looking to continue his development in National League South.
