Club Statement

Most supporters will be aware of an incident which has been widely reported in the press relating to a reserve team game. The club decided at the time that it would be inappropriate to make any comment whilst internal investigations were concluded.

However whilst carrying out those investigations the media and press decided to run with stories which unfortunately contained factual inaccuracies which has not helped the situation and led to many wild and erroneous accusations.

I can confirm that reports by both clubs and the referee have been sent to the league and these are now being considered. The police have spoken to various people and we continue to assist them with their enquiries.

The club will not be making any further comment until all investigations are complete and hope that any reporting to date does not prejudice either club or players in any way.
