The noise you make and the backing you give the boys means a huge amount to all of us and certainly doesn’t go unnoticed

Firstly, we’d like to welcome everyone from Chatham Town to Arbour Park for this afternoon’s FA Cup fixture.
It’s now been a couple of weeks since we were asked to take interim charge, and we’ve really enjoyed getting to work more closely with this group. They’re an honest, hard working group of lads who have taken on board our ideas and messages really well, and the response we’ve had from them has been extremely positive.
We saw some really encouraging signs in the opening 40 minutes against a strong Salisbury side, and we felt the challenge from there was to build on those foundations. The boys did exactly that last weekend away at AFC Totton, putting in a brilliant performance to secure our first win and clean sheet of the season.
It was a result everyone connected with the club needed, but more importantly, it was a performance that showed the standards we want this group to consistently reach. We know there is still plenty of work ahead of us, but it was another positive step and something we now want to build on.
Today we take a break from league action as we welcome a very good Chatham Town side to Arbour Park. We respect the qualities they possess and know the challenge they’ll bring this afternoon, but our boys are ready, focused and determined to keep building on the positive start we’ve made together over the last couple of weeks.
Finally, we have to mention the Rebel Army.
The support you continue to give this team, both here at Arbour Park and on the road, has been unbelievable. The noise you make and the backing you give the boys means a huge amount to all of us and certainly doesn’t go unnoticed.
So keep bringing that energy, keep banging that drum and get right behind the boys again this afternoon. We’ll be giving everything we have to give you a performance to be proud of.
