Slough Town are pleased to announce the signing of 26-year-old forward Saikou Janneh.
Born in Gunjur, The Gambia, Janneh moved to England as a teenager and initially developed with Bath City before gaining experience in Western League football with Cadbury Heath and Clevedon Town.
His performances for Clevedon, where he scored eight goals in 12 appearances, earned him a move to Championship side Bristol City in 2018.
Janneh spent four years with the Robins and enjoyed several loan spells, with his most prolific coming at Torquay United during the 2018/19 season.
He scored 16 goals in 28 National League South appearances as Torquay were crowned champions, finishing the campaign with 18 goals in 34 appearances across all competitions.
Janneh also had loan spells with Newport County and Shrewsbury Town before joining Cambridge United on a permanent deal in 2022. He made 21 appearances for Cambridge, with a further loan spell at AFC Wimbledon during the 2022/23 season.
The forward has made 63 appearances in the English Football League and most recently played in England with National League side Truro City, having also spent a short spell with Kuwaiti Division One club Al-Jazeera.
A pacy and versatile forward, Janneh can operate on either wing or through the centre.
