Injury cuts Blount's season short
Michael Blount calls time on this season after a succession of injuries.
We have to announce that Michael Blount has taken the difficult decision to stop playing football for the rest of the season.
Blounty has been having serious groin problems since he got into the side in September, and despite having 10 weeks out recently after the Chertsey league cup game, he has tried pushing himself to get fit again, and he is currently putting himself through a lot of pain.
We had discussed getting him out on loan to regain match fitness, however he had a reaction to the groin injury after Burnham, and feels he has no other choice than to give it complete rest whilst he gets second opinions on what it may be.
We will stay in touch with Blounty as we do feel that he has potential to be a very good centre half, however he will need to put his injury problems behind him.
We hope that we may see him next pre-season.
