2014/15 Squad Announcement
Neil Baker provides an early insight into next season's squad.
We have spoken to two targets to strengthen the squad and we expect to announce news of these over the next few weeks. Neil Baker After a positive meeting with chairman Steve Easterbrook on Wednesday night, we have spent the last couple of days speaking with the squad from last season and are pleased to announce that every player has committed for next season.
We are delighted with this, and are really looking forward to them showing everyone what they can do in the Premier.
The only player who may struggle a little in terms of commitment next season is Dave Woozley, due to his job as a fireman and the additional travelling we will face in the Southern Premier. He will also be away for 3 weeks in August as he is abroad for his brother's wedding. 'Wooz' plans to report back for pre-season and we will have to play this one by ear a little and see where we are come the start of the season, and we sit down and look at the fixture list with him.
Adam Foulser is responding really well to treatment and is working extremely hard to get back to fitness. His surgeon, who also operated on Theo Walcott’s ACL, was really impressed with his progress. He is expected to be back light jogging and working with Kev McGoldrick when we report for pre season training on the 1st of July.
We have spoken to two targets to strengthen the squad, and we expect to announce news of these over the next few weeks, however at this stage we do not need to alert other clubs of our interest, and we are happy with the commitment we have had from them both.
We have also been contacted by a number of other players keen to join us, and will no doubt take a look at a couple of these in pre-season before finalising our squad.
