Rebels look for festive cheer at Thatcham
Slough Town will be looking to start another unbeaten run in the all-Berkshire clash with Thatcham Town.
Slough Town will be looking to start another unbeaten run in the all-Berkshire clash with Thatcham Town at Waterside Park on Saturday.
The Blues are currently the league's form team with five wins in their last six, a run which propelled them to seventh place, but which was ended with a defeat by Paulton Rovers last Saturday.
Slough's unbeaten run of six games also came to an end with a home defeat by Didcot Town with Slough pushing hard for an equaliser in the second half against one of the league's promotion contenders. The Rebels will be looking to avenge the FA Trophy defeat at Waterside Park back in October, when James Pritchard's 88th minute goal was not enough to secure a replay as Ashley Vine grabbed an injury-time winner in a thrilling match which ended 5-4.
Derek Sweetman's injury crisis has eased over the last few weeks with Adam Dickens and Adam Durrant the only long-term absentees. Luke Evans sat out the Didcot game following a dead-leg sustained at Paulton, but should be in contention to play following a further week's rest.
Thatcham on the other hand have injury concerns in defence, with manager Gary Ackling possibly missing Dean Flockton, Adam Pilling and Sam Rea, who was stretchered off in the 2-0 defeat to Paulton Rovers.
The match is a 3pm kick-off.
