EASILY one of the most spectacular goalkeepers ever to play for Slough is Mike Stanton.Mike, Welsh by birth, was a physical education master at Haymill School, a position he inherited from Ken Farrow, the former Maidenhead footballer.
Mike Joined Slough late in October and after- a couple of games in the reserves went into the first team. Mike, who at 24 years old, played a lot of football in his home town of Llandrindod and turned out on a number of occasions for Swansea "A" team before going to Loughborough Physical Education College for a course.
While there he kept goal for the college team and came to Slough in September last year. Noted for favouring a black goalkeepers jersey.
