Slough Arrive Late But Leave With A Win

These clubs met at Maidenhead on Saturday. Slough arrived 25 minutes late, but the light permitted the game to be played to a finish. The attendance was large, and the weather favourable, and a fairly good match was witnessed.

The game throughout was evenly contested, but Maidenhead were, as usual, wanting when in front of goal, and did not make the most of many chances to score.

In the first half some good passing by the Slough front division resulted in Paul sending in a fine shot, and Edwards, in trying to put the ball over the bar, at the mortification of seeing a drop is feet, and Gooderson very promptly netted it.

Only one further goals recorded, and this fell to the lot of Slough, Gooderson again scoring after a fine run and centre by Wright. This was due to Matthews kicking the ball into the mouth of his own goal.

The result was a win for Slough by two goals to none. The referee had on two occasions to address himself to too chatty spectators.
