Late Clarke Winner In Seven Goal Thriller

Ernie Clarke steps in for the injured MacKenzie and chips in with a brace, including a late winner for the Rebels.

We brought in Ernie Clarke for the injured MacKenzie. Both teams produced glorious open play and the game was a credit to amateur football.

We led 1-0 at the interval, Fussell scoring a wonderful goal. The movement was opened by the wing halves with the final through pass coming from Clements.

Barnet were all over us for a period during the second half, and their Irish International, Dennis Kellerher, rattled in three.

We had several slices of bad luck, once Clements hit the post and again when Bunker kicked away on the goal line with the keeper out.

A grand free kick by Thomson enabled Clarke to score our second and from that point onward we were on top. Seven minutes from time Fisher equalised. The team still forced the pace and with three minutes to go Clarke netted the winner.
