Five Star Table Toppers Smash Rebels
Slough remain rooted to the bottom of the table with another heavy defeat, this time going down by five at top of the table Chelmsford City.
Slough battled hard but the difference in quality was plain to see and the home side coasted to victory against a Slough side which gave everything, but could offer little against a team who had a number of players from a league higher the previous season.
Steve Daly did manage to get a header in but Richard McKinney was able to comfortably save.
The hosts laid siege to the Slough goal and had several decent opportunities before finally taking the lead through Keize Ibe. Ibe placing his shot low past deubtant keeper Lee Farrow, replacing the departed Kieron Drake.
The goal did little to satsify the appetite of the home side for more goals and Dwain Clarke and Ricky Holmes again had chances, with Holmes hitting the post.
Slough could have ended the half of level terms despite the near dominance of the home side as Matt Miller was played in, only to see his effort go straight at McKinney.
The second half continued in the same manner. Chelmsford had pretty much all of the play and it was no surprise that they added further goales from Jeff Minton, Keize Ibe with his second, Stuart Ainsley and Jason Hallett completing the scoring in the final minute.
