About Toby

Toby Byron is a versatile defender who joined Slough Town on loan from Sutton United in November 2026, having built up considerable experience across the non-League game.

He began his footballing education in the Luton Town academy, progressing through to the club's Under-18s before gaining senior experience with Hitchin Town on a work experience loan.

Following a spell in Sutton United's youth setup, Byron began his senior career with Hendon and went on to represent a number of clubs, including Hertford Town, Colney Heath and overseas sides Ermis Meligous in Greece and US Ivry in France.

After returning to England, he joined Hornchurch before moving to Folkestone Invicta, where he made 20 appearances. He subsequently enjoyed an outstanding 2024/25 campaign with Wingate & Finchley, making 45 appearances and scoring once. His performances were recognised with both the Supporters' Player of the Season and Manager's Player of the Season awards.

Byron's form earned him a move to National League South side Worthing, where he established himself in the first team. He made 29 league appearances for the Rebels' opponents before joining Sutton United in March 2026.

Returning to Sutton, where he had previously spent time as a youngster, he made eight appearances for the first team during the closing stages of the 2025/26 season, including four in the National League.

Comfortable at both centre-back and left-back, Byron brings defensive versatility and experience from across the non-League pyramid to Slough Town.
