Steve Bateman today spoke to the Official Website today about his delight in signing five key-players as preparations for the new season begins:
I'm very pleased to announce the following additions to our playing squad for next season:
Ian Brown Goalkeeper - joins from Hemel Hempstead
Steve Jackman Central Defender - joins from Bedford Town
Chris Herron Wide Left - joins from Hemel Hempstead
Paul Edgeworth Central Midfield - joins from Hemel Hempstead
Garry Sippetts Striker - joins from Chesham United
As promised last week, I can confirm that the following players have signed Southern League forms for this coming season and are quality additions to the squad having all featured for most of last season at a higher level in the football pyramid.
I also expect to announce at least two more additions before we start our pre-season training on 30th June.
Left to right: Garry Sippetts, Steve Jackman, Paul Edgeworth and Chris Herron.
I am looking forward very much to working with these players once again as they all remain hungry for success and share the vision I have for Slough Town FC for next season. They will all fit in very well with our current squad, of that I am sure.
All the new boys are very much looking forward to pulling on a Slough Town shirt and I am sure our supporters will enjoy what they see next season. For me, this is no gamble, these players have prospered in the league above for the past 3 seasons and have been involved in near misses regarding playoffs at that level.
Please find a brief biog below on each new signing:
Ian Brown: Brown arrives from Hemel Hempstead. Brown Signed for Hemel from Bedford Town in 2007 having spent over 4 years at the Eagles. Has previously played for Ampthill Town and Kempston Rovers. Brown was widely regarded as one of the best goalkeepers in the Southern Premier League last season.

Garry Sippetts.: The striker is well known to those who follow non-league football as a prolific striker having scored goals for Hemel, St.Albans City as well as having two spells at Chesham, which is where Sippetts helped the club secure a play-off position last season will some vital goals in their run-in.
