Pre-season fixtures announced

Slough Town will kick off their 2011/12 pre-season campaign with a trip to Luton-based Crawley Green Sports of the Spartan South Midlands League, on Saturday 9 July.

The club, only formed in 1992, is managed by former Rebels coach Darren Salton, assisted by a former player in Robbie Kean. The match will kick off at 1pm at the Crawley Green Rec.

Slough will follow this up with a short trip to a club managed by another familiar face – Holyport, who under the management of former Rebels boss Derek Sweetman and coach Calvin Maye, swept all before them last season, winning Division 1 East of the Hellenic League, the Floodlit Cup, and the Challenge Cup. A club on the up, Holyport have also recently had a new stand installed at their Summerleaze ground, and will take their place in the Hellenic Premier Division next season.

There are also trips to Amersham Town and Harefield United of the Spartan South Midlands League, before two big tests against Southern Premier Division sides Bedford Town and Chesham United - the latter having just missed out on a playoff berth immediately after gaining promotion at Slough's expense back in the Midlands Division playoff final back in May 2010.

The final scheduled match is at Hellenic Premier Division outfit Thame United on Saturday 6 August, managed by another familiar face in the form of Rebels legend Mark West. Thame also boast former Rebels defender James Saulsbury amongst their ranks, the player having swept the board at the club's annual presentation evening, walking away with the Supporters' Award, Manager's Award and Player's Player Award.
