Slough Town are delighted to announce the signing of defender Josh Brooking ahead of the 2026/27 season.
The 23-year-old centre-back arrives at Arbour Park from National League side Aldershot Town and brings with him an impressive footballing pedigree developed through some of the country’s leading academies.
Born in Reading, Brooking began his journey in the academy system at Reading before joining Chelsea as a 16-year-old.
During five years with Chelsea, he established himself as one of the club’s most highly regarded young defenders, representing England at Under-16 and Under-17 level and captaining Chelsea’s Under-23 side. He was also involved in first-team matchday squads during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Following his departure from Chelsea, Brooking joined Dorking Wanderers and made 17 National League South appearances during the 2024/25 campaign.
His performances earned him a move to Aldershot Town ahead of the 2025/26 season, but an unfortunate injury sustained during pre-season ruled him out for the entirety of the campaign.
Now fully fit and eager to return to competitive action, Brooking joins the Rebels with a point to prove and a strong desire to reignite his career.
An athletic, quick and committed defender, he is equally comfortable in possession and capable of helping build attacks from the back, adding further quality to Alan Julian’s defensive options.
Everyone at Slough Town would like to welcome Josh to the club.
