Slough Town are delighted to announce the signing of defender Toby Byron on loan from National League side Sutton United until Wednesday 9 December.

The 25-year-old centre-back, who can also operate at left-back, arrives at Arbour Park having gained experience across the non-League pyramid, including spells in the National League South with Worthing and at National League level with Sutton.

Born in Watford, Byron began his footballing education in the Luton Town academy, progressing through to the Hatters' Under-18s before gaining his first taste of senior football with Hitchin Town on a work experience loan.

He subsequently joined Sutton United's academy before embarking on his senior career with Hendon, where he established himself in men's football. Further spells followed with Hertford Town, Colney Heath and overseas clubs Ermis Meligous in Greece and US Ivry in France.

Returning to England, Byron joined Hornchurch ahead of the 2023/24 season before moving to Folkestone Invicta, where he made 20 appearances.

His performances earned him a move to Wingate & Finchley for the 2024/25 campaign, where he enjoyed an excellent season, making 45 appearances, scoring once and helping the club keep eight clean sheets. His contribution was recognised with both the Supporters' Player of the Season and Manager's Player of the Season awards.

That form earned him a move to National League South side Worthing, where he became a regular in the side's defence. He scored against Hornchurch in a 5-0 victory in November and was subsequently nominated for the Enterprise National League South Player of the Month award for December.

Byron joined Sutton permanently in March 2026, returning to a club where he had previously spent time in the youth setup. He made eight appearances for the U's during the closing stages of the 2025/26 campaign, including four in the National League.

A strong presence defensively, Byron offers versatility across the backline and brings experience from several levels of senior football to the Rebels.
Everyone at Slough Town would like to welcome Toby to the club.
