Slough Town Football Club has secured a 30-year lease on Tamblyn Fields at Upton Court Park, marking a major step forward in the Club’s long-term growth plans and its ambition to create a Community Sports Hub for the benefit of Slough.
The vision for Tamblyn Fields is to develop a significant sporting destination that will increase participation in football and other sports, provide new opportunities for health and wellbeing, and support the growth of the Club’s football, community and education programmes.
Located just a five-minute drive from Slough town centre and 11 minutes from the M4, Tamblyn Fields is ideally positioned to become a focal point for sporting activity in the town. The site also benefits from substantial existing footfall, large open spaces and views towards Windsor Castle.
Previously home to Slough Rugby Club, the site provides a significant opportunity for investment and development, creating facilities that can serve both Slough Town and the wider community for many years to come.
A new sporting destination for Slough
The development has two key objectives: to increase participation in junior football for boys and girls, and to deliver a wide range of sporting, fitness and wellbeing opportunities for people of all ages.
Slough Town currently has 25 junior teams, with plans to double that number to 50 across boys’ and girls’ football. The new facility will also support the continued development of teams across the Club, including youth, Academy and girls’ and ladies’ football.
The Club is also exploring opportunities to introduce a range of activities beyond football, with discussions already taking place with potential padel and pickleball, catering and digital sports providers. There are further opportunities for alternative sports, a gym and a wellbeing partner.
Together, these facilities have the potential to create a vibrant Community Sports Hub where people can participate in sport, improve their health and wellbeing, and enjoy a wide range of activities in one location.
For Slough Town, the development represents the next stage of the Club’s growth.
Since taking on a long-term lease at Arbour Park in 2024, the Club has continued to invest in its facilities, football structure and community provision. Tamblyn Fields provides the opportunity to build on that progress and create a sustainable sporting infrastructure capable of supporting the Club and the wider community for decades to come.
