Rebels add five to 08/09 squad
Rebels confirm an additional five players signed up for the forthcoming season.
Slough Town manager Derek Sweetman has been hard at work this week to secure five further players for his squad for the coming British Gas Southern League Division One South & West campaign.
Two new faces join the squad in the shape of full back Eamonn McConigley who has previously had experience with Maidenhead United, Feltham and Burnham. Joining Eamonn is goalkeeper Jon Beames. Beames had a short spell at Slough in pre-season a few years ago and has since had time with Beaconsfield SYCOB and was with Burnham last season.
Returning from last season are midfielders Lee Riddell and James Pritchard along with defender Dean Harper.
Regarding the new faces, manager Derek Sweetman had the following to say.
"Eamonn is a quality full back who's comfortable on the ball and has an excellent range of passing. He is a very accomplished defender and will be a great asset to the squad, I'm sure of that.
"Jon is a top keeper who has the ability to play at a higher level and when he's 100% focused he's up there with best. A great shot stopper and a bit of a character in the dressing room. He will provide stiff competition for the number 1 shirt with Jamie Jackson."
More signings will be announced later this week.
