Manager Derek Sweetman reflects on the recent defeat by North Leigh and also ahead to the Bank Holiday weekend's two fixtures.
I will NOT accept that level of performance again. Derek Sweetman on the North Leigh performance Well looking back to Tuesday's match, I can't lie - it was the worst performance I've seen from a team for a good few years.
I won't dwell on it but can assure you that I will NOT accept that level of performance again. That said I thought North Leigh were a very well organized side with a fair bit of talent. Having been together for the whole of last season I can see why they won their division and think they could do well this year.
Looking forward to the weekend and our two games, I can report that we had a few on the treatment table last night and a few of the youngsters are unavailable due to work commitments.
Cinderford will be a very tough game for us. They have started the season very well and have played two of the better sides in the division and remain unbeaten. They are a very strong and physical side and I notice on their fans forum they are not happy with the style of football and defensive approach the manager has them playing. Four points out of six and some people are still not happy....
Monday's fixture against Thatcham will be very different. They are also a new group trying to find their feet and have recorded a similar start to ourselves - one oraw and one heavy defeat. I'm sure both teams will be looking to improve over the opening weeks of the season.
We are currently looking to bring some more signings to the club and are in discussions with a number of possible targets and will keep you posted as soon as we have some news.
