Update On Arbor Vale Project
Slough Town have today released an update on the current progress which would see the club make a return to their home town in Slough at the existing Arbor Vale schoold site.
Collectively we are thankful to Slough Council and all its members for giving Slough FC and Slough Amateur Boxing Club a real opportunity to finally find a true home in the heart of Slough. Jayne Bradbury Please see below statement from Jayne Bradbury.
"I have engaged a team of professional individuals and corporations who have a vast knowledge of development projects across the UK. The team I have engaged as part of my proposals, are confident that they will be able to deliver on the proposed site re-development.
This proposal would look to secure a fair price paid to the council for the site, in addition to delivering a sustainable multi-sport and art stadium facility that would meet with the aspirations of Slough F C, Slough Amateur Boxing Club and the towns local people.
Although we believe that the formal offer we make to the Council to purchase the site will be a fair price in light of the community gains, we accept that it will be below market value as to enable this proposal to be viable. However, we believe that the community gains detailed in this proposal far outweigh any loss in funds paid to the council for the site from another potential developer.
The proposal has the full backing of Slough Town FC, Slough Town Supporters Trust and Slough Amateur Boxing Club. The site has a history of fulfilling a vital community role and it is our hope that if this proposal be acceptable to the council, it will enable a majority of the site, thereabout 65%, to continue to play a community function as a retained community asset held in a Trust.
Collectively we are thankful to Slough Council and all its members for giving Slough FC and Slough Amateur Boxing Club a real opportunity to finally find a true home in the heart of Slough. All parties in our professional team are committed to undertaking all necessary work to see this project through to a successful conclusion. We respectfully ask for a little time to realise our dream and create a viable development solution on the former Arbour Vale school site, to facilitate a state of the art sporting facility that the town and its people can be proud of."
