A message from Talal Al Ajmi
A message from the club's new chairman, Talal Al Ajmi.
Dear Slough Town family,
I wanted to take a moment to introduce myself personally as we begin this new chapter together.
For those I have not yet had the opportunity to meet, I am Talal Al Ajmi, Founder and Chairman of Development Holding Company. My journey as an entrepreneur began in financial markets, where in 2010 I founded VI Markets with a small team and a clear ambition: to build a business based on trust, education and long-term relationships.
Over the years, VI Markets grew from its beginnings in Kuwait into a significant financial services business with an international reach. That experience taught me some of the principles that have shaped the way I approach every business today: build strong foundations, surround yourself with capable people, think long term and never lose the trust of the people you serve.
I later established Development Holding, bringing that philosophy into a broader investment platform. Today, we have built and invested across different industries — from financial services and investment to FMCG (fast moving consumer goods) industry, specialty coffee and luxury — supporting businesses at different stages of their development and helping them grow while preserving what makes each of them distinctive.
Our journey has also included significant strategic acquisitions and partnerships, including our recent acquisition of Massaleh Investment Company, strengthening Development Holding’s position in Kuwait’s investment sector.
Throughout my career, I have learned that sustainable success is never built by one person. It comes from identifying talented people, giving them the confidence and resources to succeed, and providing clear strategic direction while allowing them to do what they do best.
That is exactly the philosophy I bring to Slough Town.
Football has always been a personal passion of mine, but what attracted me to Slough Town was much more than football. It was the club’s history, identity, people and deep connection with its community.
I have been impressed by the foundations already established and the progress made in recent years. I am not coming here to start again. I am coming here to build on what is already here.
As Chairman and co-owner, I intend to be an active and committed partner in the club’s future — providing strategic leadership, opening doors to new opportunities and working closely with the existing directors and management to establish a clear long-term direction.
At the same time, the people who understand the football operation best must be empowered to do their jobs. Our directors, management, coaches, players and staff remain central to this journey, alongside our supporters, volunteers and the wider Slough community.
My ambition is for us to build a stronger and more sustainable club — developing talent, strengthening our commercial foundations, enhancing the supporter experience and creating opportunities for long-term growth — without losing the identity that makes Slough Town special.
I want to listen, learn and understand the club before deciding where we can make the greatest difference.
I look forward to meeting you, hearing your ideas and working alongside you.
There is already a strong foundation and a proud history behind us.
Now, together, we have the opportunity to build the next chapter.
