FA Cup
Slough Town made no mistake in their FA cup tie replay at Woking on Tuesday evening qualifying to meet Romford at Slough on October 9 by two clear goals. The Rebels played brilliant football and were always in control. The goal scorers were Amos in the 23rd minute and Cruse after 67 minutes.
Slough had Roger Day for Steve Crosby and Ray Hill for Micky O'Sullivan and from the start they settled down to sweep Woking out of the game. Slough's persistent attacks brought tangible success when Reid floated the ball across and Amos was on hand to prod it home.
The pressure continued with Slough's cleverness making the home team look a very ordinary side. The second goal came midway through the second half when Reid again overlapped and chipped the ball to Cruse who volleyed it into the net.
Woking had one bright spell when they seemed likely to break the tight Town defence but it faded and Slough finished as they started, well on top. The referee did not seem to have heard of the FA's drive to clean up the game for he let everything go on both sides.
