Slough Town are the undisputed champions of the Athenian League. They strolled to an easy victory in Saturday's home game with Erith and Belvedere and after the game the Premier Division Trophy was presented by the chairman of the league. The Town scorers were Hill, Jamieson, O'Sullivan and an own goal by an Erith defender.
The game was only four minutes old when Slough went in front. A Reardon cross from the right found. Hill unmarked and he side footed the ball home with ease.
Slough pressed forward in complete control with the visitors not able to produce any football of the same class. In the 22nd minute Slough's fourth corner swerved in but was tipped over for another and Slough really took charge. In the 3rd minute Reardon made a very clever run through the Erith defence but when he released the ball to Hill the latter could only blast it over the bar.
A rare Erith attack just before half-time saw Turl go down in the Slough area and despite limping on until the interval, he had to be replaced by Yerby for the second half.
Slough got even more on sop as the second half progressed, and in the 62nd minute came the second goal,, and what a goal. A D'Arcy free kick was pushed inside by Reardon to Jamieson who had been having an unfortunate afternoon but he cleverly controlled the ball and volleyed home one of the best goals seen at Slough this season.
Three minutes later Slough went farther ahead Eaton and Day worked a clever one two before the ball was pushed to O'Sullivan to hit just inside the post.
With Slough now clearly the winners crowd began to sing merrily and their joy increased when after Reid had thrashed a shot against the crossbar in the 77th minute Hill fired in a shot which was going wide but centre-half Newbery, obviously unsighted, deflected the ball past his own goalkeeper to make the final score 4-0.
