Rebels Progress In Cup

Slough took the opportunity to make full use of their squad for this Bryco Cup tie with Hakki, Gyoury and Steer all returning to the starting line up with some much needed minutes.

Matt Murphy and Hodges both went close for Slough in the opening half, both seeing their efforts bounce back off the frame of the goal. Hodges chance in particular should have resulted in a goal for Slough with much of the goal to aim at, the usually lethal strikers effort bounced back of the bar.

Harris brought a fine save from the away keeper in the second half and the deadlock was finally broken in the final minute of the match. Hodges received the ball just outside the area and worked his way between defenders. His placed effort was saved by the keeper but fell very kindly for Murphy to slot home into an unguarded net and book the Rebels place in the next round.
