About Billy

Midfielder Billy Clifford joined Slough Town in February 2019 on loan from fellow National League South side Billericay Town.

Billy was born and raised in Slough and came through the Chelsea academy, turning professional in 2010. He played in Chelsea's pre-season friendly away to Ajax, and also joined the first team for an away Champions League game against Spartak Moscow, where he was an unused substitute.

Loan spells at Colchester United, Yeovil Town and Royal Antwerp followed, and then in 2014 Billy left Chelsea to join Walsall on a permanent basis.

After a spell at Boreham Wood, Clifford went on to join Crawley Town, where he made 43 appearances.

Billy impressed in his loan spell as part of a Slough side which went close to qualifying for the National League South playoffs. He scored twice in 11 appearances before return to Billericay at the end of the season.
