Slough Town brought the curtain down on their 2025/26 Enterprise National League South campaign with a deserved 3-2 victory over Dagenham & Redbridge at Arbour Park, ending a ten-game winless run in the process.

On a bright afternoon, the Rebels showed resilience and attacking intent to come from behind twice before sealing all three points with a decisive second-half strike.

The visitors made the brighter start and took the lead inside seven minutes. Kayden Harrack’s speculative effort from distance took a deflection on its way through, wrong-footing Michael Edegbe and finding the back of the net. It was an early setback for Slough, who had to regroup quickly.

Dagenham nearly doubled their advantage soon after, with Remi Oteh finding space and dragging a low effort narrowly wide of the post. That warning sign sparked Slough into life, and the hosts began to grow into the contest.

Luke Holness was heavily involved in the Rebels’ attacking play, twice going close as Slough pressed for an equaliser. Basil Tuma also saw an effort saved after being played in, as the pressure began to mount on the Daggers’ defence.

The breakthrough arrived on 34 minutes. After Tuma was brought down just outside the area, Johnny Goddard stepped up to take the resulting free kick. His strike cannoned back off the post into a crowded six-yard box, where Tuma reacted quickest to turn home from close range.

However, parity lasted barely a minute. Dagenham responded immediately with a well-worked move, releasing Oteh through on goal. The forward showed composure to lift the ball over Edegbe and restore the visitors’ lead.

Once again, Slough had to respond - and once again, they did so impressively. Two minutes before the break, a slick passage of play involving Tuma and Goddard opened up the Dagenham defence. Holness applied the finishing touch, calmly slotting underneath Ben Nightingale to make it 2-2 at half-time.

It was a breathless first half, full of attacking intent from both sides, and Slough nearly went in ahead at the interval when Tuma headed narrowly wide from another dangerous Goddard delivery.

The second half was a more measured affair, with fewer clear-cut chances in the opening stages. Edegbe was called into action to make a routine save, while Holness fired wide as Slough continued to look the more likely side to find a winner.

The decisive moment came on 76 minutes, and it was a goal worthy of winning any game. Tuma, influential throughout, picked out Harvey Walker with a perfectly weighted pass into space down the right. The winger surged forward, cut inside onto his left foot and fired an emphatic finish past Nightingale to put the Rebels ahead for the first time.

From there, Slough showed determination and composure to see out the closing stages. Dagenham pushed forward in search of an equaliser, but the Rebels’ defence stood firm.

A crucial moment arrived in stoppage time when Tyrese Dyce produced an excellent last-ditch tackle to deny Reggie Young a clear sight of goal, preserving Slough’s advantage.

There were a few late flashes of tension, including bookings for both sides, but Slough remained disciplined and resolute to secure the victory.

It was a fitting end to the campaign for Scott Davies’ side, who showed character and quality to come from behind and deliver a positive result in front of their supporters. The win sees the Rebels finish 16th in the table, three places below Dagenham & Redbridge.

After a challenging run of results in recent weeks, this performance provided a reminder of the team’s attacking capability and fighting spirit.
