Ruben Shakpoke

Bio

Ruben Shakpoke joined Slough Town from Welling United for an undisclosed fee in November 2025.

The forward arrived at Arbour Park with an impressive background, having developed through the academies of Norwich City, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion before progressing into senior football.

Shakpoke spent five years in Norwich City’s academy before earning a move to Premier League side Aston Villa at the age of 16. He progressed through the club’s U18 and U21 sides before later joining West Bromwich Albion, featuring regularly for the Baggies’ U21 team during the 2023/24 campaign.

His senior career began with Enfield Town before a move to Maidstone United, where he was part of the squad during the club’s 2024/25 play-off push. After making the switch to Welling United at the beginning of the 2025/26 season, Ruben joined Slough Town in November 2025.

An energetic and athletic forward, Ruben is known for his pace, versatility and ability to make intelligent runs in behind opposition defences.

He made an immediate impression during his first season with the Rebels, scoring on his debut against Farnborough and ending the campaign with seven goals from 24 appearances. Among his most notable contributions were strikes in victories against Chesham United, Weston-super-Mare and Hornchurch.

The club exercised an option within his contract to extend his stay until June 2027 as he continues his development at Arbour Park.
