Ruben Shakpoke

Bio

Striker Ruben Shakpoke arrived from Welling United for an undisclosed fee in November 2025.

The 21-year-old forward arrived at Arbour Park with an exciting pedigree, having developed through the academies of Norwich City, Aston Villa and West Bromwich Albion before gaining senior experience across the National League system.

Shakpoke began his career at Norwich City, spending five years in the academy before being snapped up by Premier League side Aston Villa at the age of 16. He progressed through the Villans’ U18 and U21 sides, later making the switch to West Bromwich Albion in 2023, where he featured for the Baggies’ U21s throughout the 2023/24 season.

He stepped into senior football with Enfield Town and then Maidstone United, joining the Stones during their 2024/25 play-off push and making eight appearances. He moved to Welling United for the start of the 2025/26 campaign.

Shakpoke is an energetic, athletic forward known for his pace, versatility and willingness to run in behind.
