Scott Davies’ eight-year association with Slough Town came to an end in 2026 following his move to Aldershot Town as First Team Manager.

Scott joined the Rebels in March 2018 during the closing stages of a successful promotion push and quickly established himself as an important figure within the squad. Across his time at the club, he made 292 appearances and scored 17 goals, contributing both in midfield and defence. A technically gifted player, Scott became known for producing moments of real quality – most notably three remarkable goals from inside his own half – as well as his outstanding execution of free kicks. He played a key role in the side that secured promotion to National League South in 2017/18 and lifted the Berks & Bucks FA Senior Cup the following season, while also twice winning the club’s Goal of the Season award.

A consistent and experienced presence over several seasons, Scott later stepped into management in November 2022 during a period of instability and uncertainty for the club. Initially appointed as caretaker before taking the role on a permanent basis, he was tasked with rebuilding confidence and results at a difficult moment.

His first season in charge, 2022/23, proved to be a significant challenge, but also demonstrated his resilience and leadership. After a difficult start, a turning point arrived on Boxing Day with a 3-1 victory away at Oxford City – his first win as manager. That result sparked a seven-game unbeaten run, as the Rebels began to climb the table with important victories over Dulwich Hamlet and Hampton & Richmond Borough. Key loan signings, including goalkeeper Will Dennis, defender Temi Eweka and striker George Alexander, proved crucial, while Ogo Obi contributed vital goals. A series of emphatic home performances, including wins over Hungerford Town and Chippenham Town, helped secure survival, with Slough finishing 18th on 51 points – a notable achievement given the circumstances.

In 2023/24, his first full season at the helm, Scott built on that foundation to guide the club to an impressive 10th-place finish with 68 points, narrowly missing out on the play-off places. After losing six of the opening seven matches, a crucial victory at Dartford sparked a strong and sustained run of form. A home win against Aveley marked the start of a remarkable year-long unbeaten run at Arbour Park in all competitions, stretching from September 2023 to September 2024. The campaign also featured a memorable run in the FA Cup, including a standout victory over Ebbsfleet United to set up a First Round tie against Grimsby Town. Scott himself scored with a trademark free kick in that tie, while the season also delivered a historic first league win at Torquay United’s Plainmoor.

The 2024/25 season saw the Rebels make a strong start, briefly sitting top of the table in the early weeks of the campaign. Although form levelled out, the team secured another comfortable mid-table finish, ending 16th with 57 points. There were a number of standout performances across the season, including notable victories over promotion-chasing sides such as Dorking Wanderers and Worthing. Cup competitions again provided highlights, most notably a memorable win over Maidenhead United in the Isuzu FA Trophy – the first competitive meeting between the sides in over two decades – while the team also showcased an exciting attacking style through players including Slavi Spasov, Leon Parillon and David Ogbonna.

The 2025/26 campaign proved to be one of the most dramatic of Scott’s tenure. A difficult first half of the season left Slough in 22nd place on Christmas Day with 19 points from 21 matches. However, alongside those struggles came a memorable FA Cup run. A superb victory over Altrincham set up a home televised Second Round tie against Macclesfield, played in front of a record Arbour Park crowd of 2,500. In a dramatic encounter, the Rebels pushed their National League North opponents all the way, forcing extra time with a late equaliser before eventually bowing out – a performance that encapsulated the spirit and resilience of Scott’s side during a season heavily affected by injuries.

That same resilience carried into the league campaign, with a 3-1 victory away at Maidenhead United on Boxing Day acting as the catalyst for a remarkable turnaround. The Rebels went on to collect 30 points from 15 games between Boxing Day and early March, securing their status with games to spare despite significant injury challenges, including the loss of captain Henry Ochieng for the remainder of the season. Highlights included a 5-0 home win over Chelmsford City, back-to-back away victories at Bath City and Hornchurch, and a dramatic home draw against Maidenhead United.

Across his time as both player and manager, Scott Davies made a lasting impact on Slough Town Football Club. He earned a strong reputation for leadership, resilience, and his ability to develop and nurture talent, helping a number of players progress in their careers while building a competitive and united squad.

Scott began his career as a professional at Reading and enjoyed a successful loan spell at Aldershot Town, where he won promotion to League Two. He also won the Conference National goal of the season award with his injury time goal against Torquay United. Scott went on to score 13 goals in 41 appearances in League Two for the Shots.

He played around 100 games in the Football League for Aldershot, Wycombe Wanderers and Crawley Town amongst others, and went on to make well over 100 appearances in National League South for Wealdstone, Oxford City and Chelmsford City.

Scott combined his roles at Slough Town with working for EPIC Risk Management, educating others by promoting responsible and safer gambling, mainly in football working alongside SkyBet and the EFL.
